The History of Charis

Our Roots

Charis was established in 2015 by founder and president, Rachel Achatz as a solo private counseling practice focused on integrating her training as a Licensed Professional Counselor with her faith .  Due to an overwhelming response in the Northeast Michigan area for outpatient mental health services, Charis expanded into a group private practice in 2016. Eight therapists work together to provide services to the community in the areas of Christian Counseling, Play Therapy, Treatment for Veterans, Trauma, Couples Therapy, Parenting Education and Training, and Coparenting Counseling.
